Privacy Policy
gws · Last updated: October 2, 2026
gws is a personal, single-user command-line tool owned and operated by Joshua Burch ("I", "me"). It is not offered to the public. This policy explains how it handles Google user data.
What data it accesses
With the permission of the account owner (me), gws can access data in my own Google accounts through Google APIs: Gmail messages and settings, Google Drive files, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Forms, Google Calendar events, Google Tasks and Google Contacts. Some sign-ins are read-only.
How the data is used
Data is used only to help me read, search, summarize, draft and organize my own information on my own computer. It is not used for advertising, profiling or any purpose unrelated to my own personal organization.
Storage and security
Sign-in credentials are stored encrypted on my own computer. gws does not operate any server that collects or stores users' data. Content retrieved from Google is processed on my computer and, when I choose to use an AI assistant, in my own sessions with that assistant. It is not otherwise transmitted anywhere.
Sharing
I do not sell Google user data, do not share it with third parties for their own purposes, and do not transfer it to advertising platforms or data brokers.
Google API Services User Data Policy
gws's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
I keep data only as long as I need it and can delete it at any time. I can revoke gws's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Children
gws is not directed to children and has no users other than its owner.
Changes and contact
I may update this policy and will change the date above. Questions: [email protected].
